For those of you who are new to the blog my name is william
Fun, swimming pools, camping sites, accommodation, shops, restaurants and more are available at the Yulara resort. The Yulara resort is the place to stay.
What type of accommodation does Yulara have?
- Sails In The Desert (premium)
- Desert Gardens (premium)
- Emu Walk apartments (standard)
- Outback Pioneer Lodge (below standard)
- Camping (well you know what campings like)
What Cabin did i stay in?
I stayed in the Emu walk apartments which are perfectly suitable, but next time I went I would probably camp!
How close is the Yulara resort to Ayers Rock?
Yes, its a 33 minute drive more or less depending on the traffic.
This post is all about Uluru, now i recently went to Uluru so I am very excited to share my experiences with you.
This is a breathtaking view of Uluru, do you know why the sky changes colour? Well read on.
The colour changes result from the effects of the earth’s atmosphere on the sun’s incoming rays. The ash, dust particles and water vapour present in the earth’s atmosphere act as a filter which can remove the bluer light from the incoming rays of the sun, allowing the redder light through at different times of day. Reflections from the rock and clouds in the sky enhance the vivid colours.
How tall is Uluru:
- 348 metres high at its peak
Are there walks around Uluru? Yes
There is a full walk around Uluru which is ten Kilometres and a smaller Mala walk which is 2km.
The walk up Uluru is a treacherous two hours, you are lucky if it open when you visit because the park is very strict as to when you can climb up the rock. But anyway let us continue First you climb up a near vertical side of Uluru, with a chain, it’s still scary though.
Then you reach a small shelter/rock area and you think you’ve done it. Yay, but no, you realise that to get to the very top you must continue but with no chain.

Travel insurance is a very important when travelling, I find that it gives me peace of mind.
Lets compare two different scenarios
- Travel Insurance
- No Travel Insurance
Scenario 1 travel insurance
We are going to Bali for five days, some areas of bali are a hotbed for disease. A large majority of Australians pick up chlamydia, so for this scenario we pick up chlamydia. Thank God we had insurance because our insurance pays for all the medical, however just as we thought that our luck could not get any worse we reverse into a tree. Luckily our insurance pays for that expense as well. We got insurance from travel insurance direct for $42.00
Scenario 2, no travel insurance
We are going to Bali for five days with no travel insurance, dammit we have chlamydia and no insurance. Money down the toilet 😦
OMFG, we reverse into a tree
I definitely recommend getting travel insurance on your travels. Has this ever happened to you comment below
